Ashby United CFC Achieves Community Inclusive Status

Callum Prince • Dec 08, 2020
We believe that all sport should be inclusive to all.

We are delighted to announce Ashby United Community Football Club has become a bronze accredited member of the NWLDC Inclusive club scheme.

Delivered by North West Leicestershire District Council, the Inclusive club scheme is an accreditation scheme that helps sports clubs to become more disability friendly. Two of the main reasons that people with disabilities don’t take part in sport are because they don’t know what is out there for them and they worry they won’t be good enough to take part. To try and break down these barriers our club has committed to the following;

Nominate a Disability Activator so that any questions about our club and our opportunities can be answered (See Below)
Developed a short equity statement so that a club ethos around disability is embedded (See Below)
Trained our team so that we are more confident at reaching and supporting people with disabilities to take part in sport at our club.
